Yesterday, the Center for Women in Business hosted Anne Doyle as she led a discussion on how women achievers can make the leap to leadership.
With over 100 people in attendance at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, she focused on what women can do to help each other advance their careers. One interesting statistic she quote stated that 77% of women believe they can get ahead by doing good work and getting a quality education. On the other hand, 88% of men believe they can get ahead through networking. She then posed the question: Why don't women take more advantage of personal networks for business advancement? A lively conversation took place both at the luncheon and on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Anne also shared an inspirational quote from her father, a legendary journalist in Michigan. "Never eliminate yourself," he used to tell her to ensure she never backed down from a challenge.
